Default v band flange

Im going to start making my headers for my turbo set up soon.
I want to put a v band flange at the end of the collector. anybody know where a can get them. Also there is a place local i can buy the U bends and other tubing, but are there any online places with real good prices?

You just have to shop around. With collectors you will have about $2k into 1 set of 321 twin headers. Are you doing twin? You need:
-Stainless Flanges (I have a set for sale by the way)
-(2) 321 Double slip Collectors(Cha ching!)
-(2) Stainless V-band or (2) t4 flanges(depending on your turbo choice)
-(12) to 14 321 1.75" Stainless U-bends(Prices are really jumping do to the steel backlog)
-5 to 10 feet of straight 1.75" 321 tube
-Stainless O2 bungs
-About 1lb of 347 tungston rod
-(4) wastegate flanges

This will pretty much get you through a set of twin turbo headers.

Expect the prices to jump more with the cost of oil now too!!! BTW, how much of the setup can you fab yourself? Can you fab you're own flanges and merge collectors, if you have access to the equipment (buddy's father runs his own sheetmetal and fab shop )

NitroRocket, what's the difference between using 321 and 304 stainless? I can see it for the flanges and collectors, but is it nessecary for the headers? What gauge tubing did you go with? you need 4 wastegate flanges? (one into the WG, one out to the turbo, two turbos, 4 flanges, that's how that works?) As above, could you fab these yourself with the right equipment? same with the collectors? U bends, same goes for them, all you really need is a mendral bend right? If you were buying just the raw matls (tubing) how much length do you think you'd need for the headers? My plans keep changing daily I think I don't mind doing the work myself as it's the only way one can learn!!

For the flanges, 304 is fine. the flanges do not see the heat that the tubes do because they are bolted to heat sinks(heads, wastegates, turbos).
321 withstands alot more heat, with a high boost application(And youll always want more, right! ) The heat rises. Personally, I will not build a set of headers with thousands of dollars in materials and labor only to use a material not correct for the application. They get hot, use the right material with matching mechanical properties.
I want with 321 .065 wall. The 4 wastegate flanges for my Racegates for example are one in and one for out on each one, so that equals 4.
I fab everything myself. I drew up the collectors on aSolidwords design program and made paper templates to wrap around each tube to cut the exact radius on each tube so they merge together perfectly(Perk to being an engineer) This will allows me to easily build the same Double slip collectors people sell for $500 each , for only about $200 in material. That's a huge savings if you do it yourself.
If you build your own collectors, you can plan on spending roughly $1400 or so on everything you need, NOT including 3" exhaust.
My list in my first post is pretty close to what you need to build one set of twin headers, unless you screw up and have to buy more bends!

Awsome, thanks! The good news is that I know wayyyyy to many people with the resources The one friend who works @ his father's fabshop (and he can weld good) as well as another friend who is working on his Mech E degree and works for a power tool company (one that is remain nameless) so he has access to some CADD stuff. Then there's me who's the accountant, took some drafting in HS, took some engineering stuff in college and said forgitaboutit, but might take some more classes (as I need some more creds to sit for the CPA Exam). That's what I really wanted to know was about how much I should expect to spend in matls for a quality set of pipes! Once I get that project car (as just finished school) this is the route I think I'm going
