hell, im sure either one would be a great "boost" of power for ya! (pun intended!) I'd do whichever is cheaper or if money is no option, do whichever gets you the most power. Are you wanting low end gains or top end? I am thinking the procharger would do better down low, but the turbo might get slightly higher peak gains. Also how much boost are you gonna run? I wouldn't do much more than 6psi on a stock lower end.

If choosing between procharger and turbo, I'd definately go with the turbo. More potential for making power. Think of it like this, a procharger is a belt driven turbo. If I were going to choose a supercharger, I think I would go with a roots-style blower. But I'd always get a turbo over a s/c.

I am personally for the Turbo which I am saving up for right now but here's why:

1. They sound cooler, especially when they are winding down after a burnout
2. It is cheaper. You can get a complete IC'ed setup for around 4-6k. With a SC, the kit is around that price and you still should but don't HAVE to buy headers.
3. No belt slippage and you can raise or lower the boost with a touch of a button.

1 & 3 are just my opinion and I am sure someone can prove #2 wrong but I am speaking relatively.

So, get a turbo. Mecham's video sold me on that!

You can't get a roots type s/c on an LS1 without major modifications and they are less efficient than the centrifugals.

Don't follow the herd. Figure out what you want to do with the car and do the research to get it there. This subject has been beat to death. Do a search in just the past two weeks and you'll see many heated debates. I haven't really read a compelling reason so far as you've already been feed some mis information. But if you have an idea of what you want, or what car you'd like to be like, like a Mechem, go ask him what he has. I can tell you guys like that did not just slap on a kit, start running 9s, and bitch slapping 800 rwhp supras around. Their cars are an evolution of failures and successes. I suggest doing more research before dropping over $4Gs on any system. The search button is your friend.

Good luck,
Mike

That might be the most accurate statement that I have seen posted on this site.

Either one will be fun. I think a turbo kit will cost more in the end. Unless you get a real basic kit and leave it alone. Good thing about turbo is once your setup is done right you can go mild to wild with a flick of a switch.

the only thing that would be a good comparison in my opinion, would be based off of what different goals you had. either with a D1 or the new budget turbo from phamspeed or whatever.

or if your more serious, look at the other bigger kits, f1's against gt42's or gt76's. im not too familiar with it all, just know that they exist.
