Default Missing Boost Where It Counts....

Hey everyone... I was curious what all your thoughts were on my little problem... I've just built this motor and am in the process of tuning... When I run the car up to 4000rpm it makes 9#'s.... It will hold 9#s until 5000rpm or so... then it gradually drops down to 5-6#s as it hits 6000rpm... I've tightened the belt to the point it won't tighten anymore... and it doesn't seem to make any difference, so I don't think its slipping... Is it possible the motor is starting to pull more air than the S/C can keep up with? Time for a bigger pulley? Thanks for any imput....

HMMMMM that sounds like built slip to me.... you have a dyno graph.... intake air temps.. do they start to rise like crazy after 5K??

from about 70 to 80 degrees C between 4000 and 5000.... what does that mean?

The last time I stepped up to a smaller pulley, my second pull to the top of the rpm band showed me a "bouncing" boost needle on my gauge. I swapped to a gatorback belt and now the needle is smooth all the way up. If your gauge sweep isn't smooth something is up.
