Default Is a turbo what i need??

I dont know if i want to do a heads/cam/ long tube/ rear end setup or a turbo setup, i like the sts kits, but what else will i need, and how bad will it mess my motor up with it being stock? What kind of gains will i get with the tunning they send me? What do you guys think?

The STS kit is a nice but pricey option. It is also very easy to upgrade boost down the road for later modifications to the engine and drivetrain. The GenIII motors are very stout and most have supported well over 400 wheel HP completely stock. The tuning is very key and not included with the STS kit. They recommend Allen Nelson ( an awesome tuner BTW ) perform the work. Downside is it will add another $500 or so to the bill.
The head/cam/headers will also get you over the 400 WHP mark and be slightly less expensive but will still require a GOOD tune.
Boils down to the wallet IMHO. If you can spend the coin now and in one chunk go FI.

ok, well that sounds good, but can i call allen and have him send me a tune, because i live in wv, and there is nowhere to get a tune here so thats what sucks. But my motor will hold the 5-6psi fine you think

Yeah, under 10psi should be no problem on the stock internals.
Allen does any type of tuning you need. If you are outside of TX he will send you a programmed PCM or program thru the mail ( based on previous experience ). I think he will keep sending you tunes until satisfied but call him first to verify. Obviouly dyno tuning is the absolute best but work with what you can.

it also depends on how streetable you want the car,someone else asked a question like this.if you take a 475 rwhp FI car is can be perfectly streetable but a H/C car with that power will have a big cam and rough idle.its in what you want the car to be

Ah Come on, Summersville is a booming town these days!!! I used to spend alot of time there at the lake and at camp retreats and such. Nice area, but definitely not any LS1 speed shops out there. Good luck with the build, I'm considering the same questions right now as I'm going to start building my car this summer. One thing that I haven't seen posted though is that along with FI is gonna come alot of other expenses with fuel system and other upgrades. Don't expect to cut a $5k check and have it not break parts that you didn't beef up like the rear end. Your clutch is probably good though.

yeah i know summersville dont offer much, but i was planning on the nelson tune anyways, i would like to dyno tune it, but i dont trust many people with my ****, but, you all think the sts would be a good kit to put on the car? I know the rearend aint gonna hold, but i will deal with that when it happens. What do i need for fuel upgrades?
