Default Stock LS1 + 10k

Hey guys!

New member here from the import scene to the dark side

I just bought a 98 Camaro with 32k miles..

I have about 12k to spend on it....

I'm taking the phamspeed twin turbo kit on consideration but would 10k would be enough to make some power?

Depends on how much power you are wanting.......

First i would start on the fuel system.......
Do a good single intank pump...... cut the hole thru the top.. believe me its alot easier.. and way better in the long run also.
A single walbro 340 is about $110
Then some injectors..... depending on your goals...... 60# Motrons should be enough for ya..... Cheapest is New Era for $440.... Then Tuning, tuning , tuning..... i cant stress it enough on a stock short block. $500-650 for wideband on the dyno tuning.....
As for a cam..... no real need to change it.... but do change the valve springs. A nice set of Comp 918's will do the trick. $159
Depending on your HP/ET goals you might have to move the Fuel Pressure Regulator up front to the rails.... so rails are about $150, then $140 for a good FP Reg. The about $120 for 20' of -8an feed line and then you can use the stock feed line as your new return. About $250 in fittings.
Then the kit its self.
Then be sure to have $$ set aside for a new rear end if you ever try and plant your new found power..... and set aside some more $$$ for a forged shortblock down the road when you plan to make more power. If you have some $$ left over you can always buy some 6.0L truck heads to lower compression down to about 9.5-9.6:1.
Im sure i forgot some stuff, but others will add it in.

Like NA$TY said, it depends on your power goals. Phamspeed even has a budget kit that could possibly give you what you want.

thanks!, i have been searching around and have found some miss-info threads about guys running stock bottom end with 8psi and 5XXhp some of them running high 10s..

but they only say that they run stock bottom ends, no other info like fuel and heads..

Also found some threads about APE shortblocks.. if i get a built shortblock and put all the other stock parts (heads, etc) would that cut it?

A big problem of mine is tunning, i dont have a dynamometer near, so tunning would be kinda difficult but yet possible...

I have 10k to spend just now.. maybe at a later time if everything goes well i can spend another 10k.. i have the money.. but i dont want to spend it all in a rush..

My high hope plans is run into the 10s or less if possible with ST radials..

thanks for your answers so far!
