Procharger Help
Currently in the process of installing an F1 Procharger in my 68 Firebird. I'll be running a 357Ci chevy. My goal is about 800hp.. My whole motor is built to the tilt, forged everything. Block has been reinforced w/ ARP studs as well as aftermarket main caps. The specs are as follows; Canfield 200cc alum. heads , Howards custom cam; 112 center lobe, 240-250 duration, 580-600 lift. My compression ratio is about 7.9.1 using those cometic head gaskets, which are crazy expensive by the way! I also just received my custom 950 blow thru carburetor from "The Carb Shop" which they claim is 95% right on *as far as tuning goes. My fuel system includes Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump and Aeromotive bypass regulator, 1/2 fuel line, 3/8 return. Im hoping to inter-cool it soon but $1500 isn't chump change! My pulley is 15lb 12rib, Im trying to find out from other experienced people how much boost can be run w/ 93 octane fuel and 7:9:1 comp ratio.. Representatives at ATI tell me 15 lbs non-intercooled will be fine, but in my opinion they don't really sound like they put a whole lot of thought into what they say. Im looking into a msd btm, but some perople tell me im going to need a digial 7+??. I purchased a fuel and boost guage but am undecided when it comes to an air/fuel guage. What should be used for tuning? Any guesses to what kind of times ill be running 1/4 mile? I have TH350, 9inch 4400stall converter, 4:10 gears & 12 bolt rear end.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Intake Air Temp= IAT. Run really low timing with high 10's AF for base line runs and monitor your IAT and knock as i said before. If you saw high IAT and some knock then that means u need some sort of cooling methods such as intercooler or alky injection if u dont want to buy an intercooler.
