Default Any driveline mods needed for poweradders?

I'm considering a supercharger (or possibly a turbo), and am wondering if a new rear end or significant tranny mods are necessary?

Don't you typically have even less torque down low with a blown setup versus a typical high compression wild cammed motor?

I have a 10 bolt, 3000 stall now and need more power up top. If I can get away with keeping the 10 bolt I could afford the supercharger this year yet.

What do you guys with blown motors think? Thanks.

What do you have to do to the tranny? Stronger sungear shell? Input housing? Input shaft? I have a 4L60 but would really like to keep it for the overdrive. Thanks.

My first car I had an ATI on (2000 z28) back when they first came out ran mid 11s (11.30 best) for at least 100 passes on the stock 4L60 with nothing but a ST3500 Yank abd a trans cooler. Stock 10 bolt with 3.23s and a t/a cover + stud kit. The axle tubes started to twist in the housing towards the end but it help up fine and I put the car back stock a year later and it still drove like new

That was starting with a brand new car though, if you do it with a car with 80K miles the trans will probably not last long but it will last enough for you to get addicted to the power and start selling your children to beef up the drivetrain

you should be alright as long as you aren't stomping on it making it downshift all the time. get a shift kit, change fluid often and definintely invest in a trans cooler.

your rear end should hold up as long as you tighten the driveline up before launching.
