Looking for a cam/head package
Looking for a cam/head package I have a bone stock LS-1 out of a 1999 F-Body and I am in the process of turbocharging the car. My understanding from reading the FAQ's is the stock motor can handle 6-7psi of boost without modification.
When I am ready to begin cranking the boost up, I understand I need to lower the compression ratio. Which head/cam packages or combos should I be looking at? Are there any good packages that bolt-on, lower compression and improve flow, without requiring an engineering degree to size? Are there any companies or products that I should stay away from?

I just got done with my FI motor build. I went with a p/p 6.0L/lQ9 head from MTI They are a sponcer------->. The cam you want more EX lift and duration than intake, with a higher LSA 114min. I got MTI's G1 cam on a 115lsa. My pistons have -2cc relief in them a cometic .054 head gasket and the 6.0L head make up 9.1 to 1 compression. I am by no means an fi expert I am still learning. Some of the other guys on here can tell you more than me. Search around this forum you will plenty to read about.
Well, if you don't want to spend a lot of money on new heads, i would buy some used ls6 heads off of ebay or something like that and get them ported. When you get your heads ported they will give you an airflow chart. Then you can get a custom cam built and just let them know that you are supercharging it and all of that stuff too. Futral motorsports will build you a custom cam for 400 dollars, also they can port heads so you cam get it all through the same company. it will cost about a 1000 or so to get the heads ported with the new springs, etc. But if you have the money to spend AFR makes awesome heads for force induction systems. good luck
