The pullies are not aligned right. U might want to check the alignment on the pullies. I ran my car hard for 3K miles now with no problems. I didnt even had to touch the belt, not even once.

All i know is when belts starts walking off or gets eaten you have to look at two main things:
1. Pullies alignment and u can adjust that by shiming the SC pulley which is the easiest to adjust.
2. Your bracket could be flexing too much which can cause this problem. Check the bracket and see if there are any marks of movement. You can solve this problem by getting a steel bracket instead of the aluminum one.

By the way whats your setup? How much boost are u running? If u are running more than 12psi then it could be the bracket flexing. Im going to try to push 12psi out of my stock 8 Rib ATI system and see how it goes. Im going to report the findings soon.

I had the same problem and it was the blower not aligned. I had the wrong standoffs installed. They have different ones for an A4.

It could also be the tensioner bearings seizing up....had this happen once when I had a procharger on the car, the tensioner bearings started seizing and the belts would snap.

Simple thing to check first BTW...if the tensioner spins freely.... i'd bet its belt misalignment.

I can not tell you the tq # but if you tighten the tensioner pulley to tight against the belt it will tear it up also. Too loose=slip to tight = tear up the belt.

Alignment is usually the #1 problem.

the s/c braket on mine wasnt straight the rear bolt going to the block that was the spacer too small so the whole bracket set uneven ponted down towards the ground kinda, i shimmed it with a washer. Have 10-15 dyno pulls+8 track passes belts is spotless it took me forever to figure the problem out though
