Question STS Rear Turbo

Ive searched, and havent found as much info as I would like on the rear turbo kit.

There's actually 2 ls1s with the STS on their cars, and the fastest I've seen either run was a 12.9.

I've heard both good AND bad stuff about them, but havent really heard anything from any reliable source.

What has everyone else seen/heard about these kits, how much are they, are they really worth the money? etc..etc..

are you kidding me? You need to retry the search button, theres two gtos in the 10's, few cars in the 11's and trucks in the low 12's etc etc etc..then theres my old setup

The StS kit's are nice well engineered and work well. We have installed a few kit's at our shop and we are pleased with the outcome.

I highly doubt you've searched or if you did, you read the threads. Try again, there's far more than 2 LS1's with the kit and if you haven't read anything from a reliable source, such as an owner, you just haven't read any of those threads you "searched" for.

This has been gone over ad nauseum....if you do a search, you'll find more than you'll ever want to read.

It has been gone over ad nauseum, prima facie. In fact, however, it has really been gone over ad infinitum, vis-a-vis the ad nauseum appeal, inter alia, of course, with more accuracy based on a reflective-equilibrium model. This would be the proper appeal for the state of affairs, an sich.



Moral of the story: Greek/Latin & French/German phrases do better justice on a philosophical/litigational forum

than a mechanical/engineering forum,

like LS1tech.com.

Yup, 10sec GTOs, 11.4sec nearly stock LS1 Camaro, 11sec 2wd truck, low 12sec 4x4 truck, and this crazy twin turbo STS style ext.cab truck that accelerates like a commet ( http://www.greenthunderracing.com/ ) and a 700+rwhp car that never made it to the track :p , there is a low 13sec Ram truck on 5psi as well.

Seriously though, there is tons of info here. Try altering your search parameters and I'm sure your find more stuff.

If it can make a stupid 5250lb truck run 12s imagine what it CAN, and has, done to a 3500lb car with a bigger motor.

There is also a Z24 running low 12s with an STS style rear mount. Mine's home built and I know I'm at least low 12's. The system works.

Hi Amber, the STS kit has a great following here on tech and has put up some nice track times as well as dyno numbers as mentioned above. If you have goals of 10-11 sec 1/4 times you will be able to hit those times with the upgraded turbo(*i'm thinking its the GT67...could be wrong* ) STS turbo kit. Angie from thunder racing recently went low 11's with her lightly modded daily driver. For the cost of the kit, you get one hell of a performance gain. I'd go with a STS kit with a FMIC also, keep those intake temperatures down and KR down too for a daily driver. You have many sponsors to chose from to buy this kit from.

The STS kit fits pretty well, and several sponsors here sell it. They have pics and the like at www.ststurbo.com.

***2 ls1s from HERE, as in, central texas.

My question was how much of a performance gain, and why these guys are still only running high 12s low 13s around here.

In my case the car is set up for the street, and not best suited for the track ie springs, 10 bolt (which i grenaded yesterday) Last time at the track 12.0 at 126. The GTO is a good example of someone who set their car up right for ETs. Rear is key for me right now
