Default help, BOV is opening at WOT

what the heck is going on here? it works fine, i hear it blow off when i let off the gas. problem is when i get into third it will open, pules for a few seconds and then fininaly close back up. i do see a slight boost spike at the 2-3 shift but that is nothing new. pt88 is new. lines look good. i tried the adjustment from full in to full out and no diference at all.

any ideas?

i ran a new line from right behind the throttle body to the BOV just in case that line wasn't seeing a good signal. now i know it is and i am geting the exact same results.

i called sam from cmotorsports, he called his experts and they think it is some kind of compresor surge. i dont really know what that is exactly. i am 99.9% sure the BOV is opening, could compresor surge effect the BOV?

looking at the logs i have 2 map sensors, one for the mega and one for my alky kit and i log both. neigher one is showing any boost drop but it sure seems like the power fell off hard. even if the bov was leting off some boost if the intake was still seeing 16psi it should be making the same power i would think. it feels like i am short shifting it too. since it goes away as the rpms come up in 3rd i think i will try shifting it higher.

duh, i just looked. for some reason it is shifting at 5300rpm, with the converter locked that brings the rpms down to 3800 in 3rd. that is a prety low rpm. i dont remember why i have is shifting so eairly but i will try uping that to 6000 or so and see how it like that.

Under boost the pressure to the line should help hold it down unless you are over powering the BOV valve...kind of like what happens to the back side of a intake valve with the extra pressure force hitting it, which effects the spring/valve return and give you less spring return pressure.

I have two BOV and I actually like the smaller one better...it will hold pressure better as the valve head is smaller...I like the wosh noise too

Idea...maybe two smaller BOV's?

Ken

Whats Ken is suggesting makes sence to me.

On a side note, in another thread you stated you make a minimum of 14lbs boost....does it creep from there or can you hold it at 14 steady?

In my front mount system, I had an issue where I would make a minimum of 22 lbs, then after W2W helped, it got it down to a minimum of 8lbs. The issue was related to the waste gas not getting out fast enough in my case. Configuration was way different , but theory is the same. I cant help to think you could beneift from a larger gate and smaller BOV or at least one with a stiffer spring.
How big is the pipe to the WG? Does it have to make a sharp turn to get out the gate or smooth transition for easy flow?

Sweet truck and videos, keep knocking them dead out there.

yes, i do apear to need a larger waste gate but i might be able to get by with what i have. i see about 15psi with my cut out closed and it is a steady 15psi. i haven't really tried the cut out open enough to see if it is a steady 22psi or not. so far from what i am seeing with the meth i think i am going to be able to get it to run 22psi on pump gas with enough meth. if i can then i dont need to worry about geting it to go lower.
