Default How much Alkyl?

With my 6 PSI non intercooled Vortech kit I tried alkyl quantities between 4 to 10 GPH, this using 50% ethanol. AF ratio using water alone is a streight 12.5 (water doesn't mess with the WB signals as with alcohol).

I can bump up timing to 21* without KR using 6 GPH alkyl.
Timing begins with 28* at 3600 rpm, decreased linear with engine speed and remains constant at 21* from 5600 rpm and up.
If I go higer (like 23-24*) I see 2-3 KR, no matter if inject 8 or 10 GPH.
Is that the limit of my internally stock engine? (98 LS1).

The knock sensors are desensitized so to see max 0.5 KR at WOT when non supercharged.

How much alkyl and timing are you using / would you suggest?

Thanks - Stefano

Have you tried straight alky?

You mean pure methanol or ethanol? No.

I first started with 4GPH water and 19* timing to set the AFR, then switched to 50% ethanol, bumped up the timing until KR, then more 50% ethanol... and so on. until I got the actual combination.
Pure alcohol should help, I know, but I'm still using the windshield washer tank and I dont' know how safe is to don't make a dilution with water.

i use the windshield washer tank and have always used straight methanol in my 00 T/A.
I use two nozzle...m10 and m15 with the pump at full speed!! Ran 10.3 this past weekend
and it was 82 degrees outside with no KR

Are the quantities in GPH? How much boost?
