Default Ls1 turbos in 1st gen

Well guys, I'm working out the details of a ls1/t56 in my 68 and of corse i have to get another wild hair up my *** and think to add some turbos to it.

I'm looking for something fairly ballsy with somewhere north of 500rwhp, however I don't want the power very much below 4k rpm for better driveability

Essentially my question is what else will I have to do/use.

-Turbo cam (which would have a nice idle)
-bigger injectors (how big)
-turbos (what would be good for specs?)
-custom make some headers (what size primaries wall thickness and material?)
-lots of tubing with 45* and 90* bends (ditto)
-wastegates (if not integral what size)
-blow off valve (what size)
-air to air intercoolers
-wide band O2
-reprogrammed ecu
-downpipe

Things im not sure about
-different intake, maf, throttle body?
-dropped compresion pistons
-clutch
-trans
etc

I'm sure im missing tons of stuff in there so please let me know, im under the impression that the bottom end can take quite a beating, but since the motor will be out of a donor car is there something else i should do before dropping it in.

forged pistons and con rods. Or, if you want to keep the stock rods and pistons, at least upgrade the con-rod bolts. The stockers are infamous for letting go at high rpm after sustained (ab)use.

sounds like a fun project. Good luck!

I'd do rods and pistons if it was me for piece of mind...especially since its gonna be a DD. The TB, intake will be fine and as long as you only run like 6-7# the maf should not max out. Oh and you'll need a fuel pump and a ton of other random stuff
