Default CC 918 springs question

Hey turbo guys,

I have a question for everyone today:

I'm still buying miscellaneous things and tying up loose ends. I will run 7 psi of boost and had originally abandoned the plans of buying aftermarket springs. I've been reading too much about valve float and there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to what cars begin to experience this problem for more or less this application. I would rather be safe than sorry so I'm buying some today! Question is, I know CC 918 springs are highly recommended and they work with the stock retainers.

Do I need the aftermarket retainers, too?

I'm sure many wll empathize with this: I'm a little tight on money.

I know very well, though: I WILL spend it if it even remotely needs it, I love my car. I just want to rule out not needing the aftermarket retainers before I order them since they seem to cost as much as the springs themselves everywhere I've checked.

As always, thanks alot for your time. When my car's done, I'll owe it all to you guys since you've helped me so much!

I used them my self and everything is reusable on the 918's. I hope you got hardened pushrods while it is open. 99% of us have bent stockers. GL man!

Thanks man! I'm sorry, though. I'm a little unclear. You re-used the stock retainers and they are holding up fine? I'm sorry if I'm a little worried... First time ever doing a job this big! Bit nervous...

There is no problem at all with reusin the retainers and clips. All you need is the springs. GL man
