how come you haven't pushed it any higher boost wise? Futral Motorsports has the cam I think I'm gonna go with its the FM-7.
I Looked at that cam also and a couple of others I just decided to go with something I had thought up a combination of a few different cam specs sorta and just disscussed it with Comp and that is how I up with mine etc... I have was running a 2.65" pulley that did 569rwhp and now I just installed a 2.5" pulley to see where I end up and all I have seen is @8lbs. I am flowing all the air the blower will move. I just don't have any resistance and so it is not showing any more boost on a stock headed motor it would probably be @12-14lbs maybe ? I don't know how to measure that. The cam will eat up some of your boost in that it will cause your valve train to flow better netting you less bost etc... Should be more power though. I don't know what pulley your running but I would suggest a 2.65" pulley worked very well for me. Good luck.

We'd be pulling the motor's from tree's and living in cardboard boxes if we charged $500

According to my Chilton labor guide, it is about an 11 hour job. That is the standard all shops use. So that is about $700-$900. That does NOT include parts transfer or extras and materials. That is to remove a complete motor, and install an equally complete motor.

Let me ask ya'll this, is it better to use my ls6 block (not sure if i have one but if I do) or will it not make a big difference using a regular ls1 block?

I wanted to pay around 5500 to be honest all in with a cam.

ok guys here's an update, i feel pretty good about this tell me what ya'll think.

For basically what you asked for which was the shortblock with forged pistons and rods with a stock crank, machine shop service for balance and blueprint ($2995), camshaft ($395), dual spring kit ($349), moly pushrods ($115), gaskets, fluids and seals (approx $350), labor to R&R w/ the SC, assemble, install and tune ($2400) comes to $6604 exchange as a normal retail price. Your price would be $5895 exchange plus tax for this setup.

What I quoted you in the previous e-mail for $6795 exchange plus tax adds ARP head bolts ($149), ARP main studs ($179), new LS6 inspected oil pump ($100), new Comp lifters ($229), new Comp adjustable timing set ($179), LS6 PCV system ($150) and a check valve for the PCV system under boost ($14). Normal retail pricing is $7604 exchange.
