A quick question?
A quick question? What is that hissing noise on a turbo system when the car is shifted(Wastegate or blow off valve). An does an automatic use this "noise maker". Excuse my ignorance but a friend's turbo system has caught my intrest. We went for a ride it....it was awesome besides the gobbs of power just the hissing itself was music to the ear. So now I am thinking of ditching the nitrous and going turbo.
I've been doing research and have found that a forged 346 with a good kit will support 700+hp. By forged do they mean just pistons and rings? I know other areas will need to be strengthed (tranny, fuel pump, rearend).

I love the sound of a mean BOV myself, not the little ones, though, that whistle like a laughing clown, but the ones that sound like a loud "SSHHHHH!"
Don't forget forged connecting rods for that kind of power output. Actually, for that kind of power output, a good boost cam, valves, valve springs, retainers, rockers, fuel pump (s), strengthened pushrods, and injectors might be essential. Well, you might get away with stock fuel rails and stock heads, I dunno. Turbo guru's?
