Availability of LSx and what upgrades needed for boost? Hello forum,
Ive been thinking about getting a chevelle or any GM pre 74 muscle car ( California smog exempt) and was planning on dropping in my 406 from my 84 corvette. Unfortunately I have to sell the corvette b.c I cannot pass smog and I have to get rid of it or somehow find a way to get it to pass smog which I tried and noone wants to take the risk.
SO I was reading around and the LSx engine would be nice, we have one in our 02 Transam and its pretty awseme, good mileage, no troubles and from what I hear its a strong engine, only mods would be pistons, rods, and lower compression and it'll stand 700rwhp. Question is what upgrades have to be done to the computer?
I know injectors have to be changed out, fuel pump upgrades but what else needs to be altered to get the lsx engine to live with boost. How expensive is it besides the internal modifications like pistons and rods? Also how much would a used ls1 engine go for? 5.7L+ would be good.

youre better off having a sponsor build you a shortblock and go from there....ie horsepower engineering for example----------------->
some sponsors can build a forged shortblock for about $3k.then get heads and valvetrain and an intake and a computer like a FAST to make it work it your hot rod and your good to go.
