I've been around in this section a little but i'm such a noob i just don't know whats up....


I've read up on how superchargers/turbos work... and it seems like a turbo is what i'm looking for...

Now i'm trying to keep my car one of a kind and i'm looking for some serious power numbers... serious power numbers are 500hp/tq to me... I have a stock LT1 from top to bottom.... I'm considering either dropping in a modified LS6 or LS2 into my firebird... but fear i've given up to early on my LT1...

I'm considering turboing it to get the most out of it.. but not sure what i'm looking at too do so.. aslo it's my daily driver and i'm looking for it to be close to my current fuel econ... suggestions??? 500hp+ is my goal so help me out please.

 

search button is your friend. just about any bolt on turbo kit will make 500 easy.

 

but will i stil get the same if not close to the same fuel econ?

I've heard turbos can increase normal fuel econ... is this true?

 

well since you did an lt1-ls1 conversion and you seem like you have the money/skill, i would drop an ls6 in there w/ the turbo package of your choice. i wouldnt trust a stock lt1 with much boost.

 

I have money but not sure I could handle the bill of something like that... I could probably slid the LS6 in there this winter but the turbo would be a winter 07 thing....... I know an LS6 with 150 shot will get me my 500hp...

but would a turbo LT1 be more cost eff???

i seen a guy on here who has a twin turbo LT1 and it's 95% daily driver. I think i seen 800+ hp/tq...

whats a build like that cost??
