Intercooler charge pipe size
Intercooler charge pipe size I just got part of my Phamspeed kit today and I was told that the intercooler pipe size would be 3". Well after measuring it's only 2.5". My question is how bad will this hurt the system as a whole. I will be running a T76GTS and I'm shooting for 700rwhp on pump gas with an iron 370.
the 76gts discharge is 3"
so you'll be steping down to a 2.5" then later back up to the 4" opening at the TB, not the best, but 2.5 will get you by.

Ok I contacted phamspeed and they said that 2.5 will support 1000HP, while this may be true I was under the impression that it will cause me to boost more for the same HP compaired to the 3" as well as putting more heat in the charge. Another thing the pipe is made from mild steel which is going to rust will the rusting of the pipe on the inside cause me any issues I don't want rust chips in my motor.
The rusting thing shouldnt be that big of a deal, there will be some condensation on the inside, however if they used aluminized piping, that should eliminate most of the rusting problems.
I agree with smokin, I would use 3" to the IC, and then 4" from the IC to the TB, that is what I plan to do, and I have the same kit that you do. Phamspeed, with T-76GTSH.
