Twin turbo Chevelle update!
ALOT of welding on this baby! I am on my 4th tank of argon!! The intercooler and headers took the longest. I only have about a week of work left, but with my schedule, it will take 3.
I can't wait!

Well, as far as how did I make the bends? I bought (12) U-bends, cut'em up and that is how I made the headers. They are 1.75" 321 stainless. The flanges were very complicated to design and I actually had them drawn up on Solidworks for a 3-D model and made paper templates to wrap around the tubes to get the correct cuts. Saved me about $900!!!
I ran the downpipes ( I guess I should call them up-pipes!)
up over the headers because with a full chassis Chevelle I had no other route. I was'nt about to mount them below the crossmember. As far as total turbo setup cost, I have almost $5000 invested, Was not cheap. And that was getting stuff at unbelievable prices.
I will be tuning the car myself with my EfiLive setup and wideband at the track, although, if anyone would like to donate some files of a similar setup to get me going, I sure would'nt complain!
I'd be happy to share any info with anyone. I was very easy, just very time consuming!
Here is a little breakdown:
347" ls1
-8.1:1 compression
-TEA stage 2 heads
-LS6 Intake
-Comp cam
-Twin 60-1 hi-fi turbos
-Twin Turbonetics Racegates
-Tial 50mm bov
-Spearco 1500 cfm intercooler
-1.75" 321 headers
-3" dual exhaust
-Turbosmart boost controller
-96 lb injectors
-Stock pcm
And a whole bunch of other minor little stuff that would take me a day to list!
I am hoping to see about 700 rwhp on pump gas and about 850-900 rwhp on race gas, but it really does'nt matter as long as the car will spin the tires from a stop light.
