Best shortblock for boost?
Best shortblock for boost? I am leaning toward a Phamspeed kit w/ a T76GTS and was wondering what would be the best short block. May also throw a 75 shot on it. The car will be an everyday driver and should act like one unless in the boost. I want the capabilty to hold 750 rwhp if necessary and I was thinking of sticking with stock displacement and an aluminum block. Is it worth the extra weight to go iron, do I need it? Should I go w/ a stroker? Cost is a concern also, I know it costs to play but I figure if I do it right the first time it will save me in the long run. I also want a complete shortblock, no assembly... no offense but I don't trust anyone around here to assemble it.

The production block will hold that much power with nothing more than main studs. I would not add the extra weight if I were you unless you were trying to hit more than 1000WHP. Even then, billet caps and a good main girdle and you will be fine.

i also have a Pham budget with a T76GTS....im having HPE build me a forged 383 with 9:1 CR...ive been told that ill make over 600rwhp at 10#s without sweating to hard....and if you go through them they can also get you a custom cam(i went on the small side since i drive my car everyday) for a great price!pm racer 7088...hes the builder.
