Default Do STS's really et/mph lower?

I am looking into a kit, but am concerned about the hp numbers not matching well with the et's vs. an n/a or procharged car. Example: an n/a 440rwhp car trapping @ 122 and a sts 500rwhp trapping at 125 or something crazy. What are your thoughts?

Well 500 hp in a hot *** place like vegas will net ya 125 area. Where as in a place near sealevel it will get close to 130. NA is effected ALOT less by alt hum bar heat. The sts can and has delivered. GL

very interesting ... so are you saying the sts will not trap worse than an n/a or blower car all things equal?

A turbo car makes more power under the curve then any other method i believe. Meaning that at teh same HP in teh same displacment engine, save for lower compression, the turbo car shold be fastest. As soon as they spool, usually about 3k rpm, they are makin all the boost you want. Where as a super ramps up the boost. So the super will make the most power where ever youu let our foot off the gas. Redline if you take it there. The NA engine would also be very peaky at the same HP, assumin we are refering to 500 RWHP.
There are obviously some exceptions but that is the general rule of thumb. GL

thats normal for a turbo car because it takes some work to get it to 330' well. My car is a prime example....should run 9s with 700+ hp but only does bottom 10s

I would agree, the turbo car can actualy be used to run the best E.T. of all power adders, just look at Pro Street! The only stipulation for an STS car or any other turbo really is that you need to set up your driveline for it, a stall speed high enough to make boost on the line and a way to hold it there like a trans brake, or people in the GN community have used a dual caliper rear disc setup, it would not be that hard to do on a F-body and it would allow you to hold it on the line with greater efficiency to spool it up before launch. Realistically ANY car neds setup, I just think most people with the STS systems go for the power number and then fall short in the chassis/driveline department for some reason. Keep an eye out, I am working on my personal car that will make somewhere close to 1000WHP with an STS system and it is going to be setup very well in ALL departments!

Here is some comparison for you. Keep in mind that these numbers are from the las vegas track, the only slower track than us is Denver.

427 stroker LS1 traps 119
408 LS1 traps 118
408 LS1 trap 122
One of the guys here got a stripped and gutted ls1 race car with everything done (stock short block though) to trap 133 on a 300 shot.

My stock motor + 13-14psi traps 126 in June. I will be trapping 130+ when our weather cools off.
