Default Belt issues???

Ok, so I go to the track tonight to try and get a few runs in but everytime I launched my serpentine belt would fall off. The only thing that I can think of is my belt tensioner is going bad. It feels tight still. I just replaced my serpentine belt with a new Dayco Poly cog about a month ago. Anyone have any ideas as to what else might be wrong???

Mine started doing that after going to 10psi. I changed to the katech solid tensioner and haven't had any issues since. http://thunderracing.com/catalog/?ac...vid=3&pcid=113

When I was searching I came across a thread that said TR also sells a tensioner pulley with higher sides to keep the belt from falling off. It's not on the site, you have to call and ask for it.

First thing to do it play with the tensioner. You need a lot of 'tension' to keep the belt from slipping, and ultimately walking off. I run 18-21.5 psi and run a manual tensioner. You might be able to run a spring tensioner at 10-12 psi. But if you can twist the blower belt with your hand, like twist it 90 degrees, it's too loose.

I run Dayco Polycog belts too.

Where does one buy Dayco belts? Are they better than Goodyear Gatorback belts? Thanks!

You can find them at Advance Auto parts.

PSJ,

My blower belt was fine. I have an ATI p1-sc kit. It was my serpentine belt that drives all of the accesories on my car that was falling off.

Oh. For that I would get the high flanged pulley from Thunder Racing, also known as the ASP "Larry" pulley. Going over 6500 rpms I had that problem too.

I like how they're aren't any Advance Auto Parts stores west of Colorado... Yet they have several stores in Puerto Rico, but none in California...
