Default got a problem with my vortech...

hey everybody, this is my first problem with my vortech in over 3 years so i can honestly say im happy it lasted this long with no problems. on friday i was out on woodward for the dream cruise here in detroit, and i was playing around alot. on the way home i felt the engine bog down and felt like it wanted to stall. so i pulled over and it went away so i drove home.

When i was driving home i was hearing a different sound coming from the blower it wasn't really whining it sounded like it was blowing air into the atmosphere. so i get home pop open the hood and the clamps that hold the aftercooler to the blower are loose and the aftercooler is just laying their not connected to the blower our the bottom tube that goes into the throttle body. what could of happened could the bolts have come loose or did i blow it off litterly. ive never heard of anybody having this problem. Now my SES light is on and i don't know if i did any damage to the motor or whats going on...any helpfull hints you guys can pass around? my motor has all stock internals. thanks

Brian

You might want to check fittings from time to time. If they become loose over time it is indeed possible to pop them off under boost. Probably no damage. Just check all the hoses, replace as necessary and bolt back together.

Yeah if the bypass valve didn't work it could have blown the pieces apart. This is my guess the plasic bosch things are ok but do fail. I would replace it and see what happens I don't think you hurt your motor at all. It would only cause it to go rich witch won't hurt much except the plugs. Good luck!
