Vortech guys - balancer issue here.
Vortech guys - balancer issue here. I bought a Vortech SQ trim from Jason Short but didn't get the balancer. Not sure if Jason didn't realize that the balancer is specific to the kit or what - that's not the issue, i've already called him on that. No biggie.
What I want to know is - if Jason has sold the car or something - can I use the stock balancer with this kit or can I purchase an aftermarket kit to use?
Vortech wants $400 for a pulley/balancer assembly - will not seperate the unit so i'm kinda screwed there.
It would be financially more sound to purchase an aftermarket balancer or re-use the stock one - if Jason no longer has the balancer.
Ugghh - I feel sick
EDIT: I have some choices here I guess. If Jason no longer has the pulley I can purchase an aftermarket pulley but I need to know whether or not this rim on the back of the vortech pulley will fit into the center of the hub area. I guess I could grind the surface flat since it doesn't actually enter the hub itself anyhow. What do you guys think? I'm not doing anything until I hear back from Jason one way or another. I'll go from there. This, to me, seems like it would be an honest mistake - heck we had no idea that the balancer was specific hehehe - guess I should pay closer attention.

It is an ATI superdampener, so you will need to get one that is like that, or compatible, I do not think that the stock one will work at all.
