Default PT76gts vs GT42 76 and more...

THis will be going on a 370fe block, TEA stage 3 -oringed heads, edelbrock victor jr intake, 9.2:1 compression. Looking for a reliable 700hp daily driver.

Now for the turbo, It will be upfront in the stock battery location. I am looking for the smallest packaged turbo that will be able to easily make the 700hp not have to work hard for it.

The garrett gt42 76 is pretty large isnt it?
What about the difference between the pt76gts and the 74gts?

Thanks in advance!

I'm going with a T76GTS and plan to support 700RWHP. The GT42 is definitely a large turbo in terms of dimensions and supports pretty mush the same.

Sorry to highjack your thread but i think this will interest you too if you haven't already made up your mind. The question is. What ar would you guys go with? I was originally gonna go with the .81 on the PT76GTS but a guy who built a turbo mustang sais when they were building his car the .81 was almost too small. And the .96 was alittle too big. He said he'd probably go with the .96 if he ws building a 346ci. So i'm alittle unsure. I think i'll still go with the .81 myself. But some input would be great.

My original goal was 700rwhp..... Were going thru everything right now... i want make as much as i can...
From what i see with most people's kits they are doing mid 700's with low boost... 16-18 psi.... id like it like Huggers set-up....
a lil over 600rwhp on pump 93 and mid to low 800's on C16.
What ever it will do im sure it will be a blast.
Joe and the whole crew at Stenod are really taking care of me.... we will see Jer....

It should spool pretty damn well, I don't have the 76mm T6 flange like Kyle but mine starts to spool just around 2200 rpm on a tune that hasn't been "optimized" for the turbo yet.(lower timing in certain areas to enhance spool up time)

Kyle, 800 shouldn't be too much of a problem, 900 nahh not a problem either..

I have 347 cubic inches and with the same turbo that Kyle has, (1.15), it spools up FAST. This is with the proper converter though, I think it flashes around 4k. Anyhow it comes on REALLY hard on the street, I don't think I'd even want it to spool any quicker.

Not to hi-jack, but since we are talking about turbo sizes and the power levels supported, how well does the GZ-kit's T70 turbo compare to those discussed here?

I made the numbers in my sig with a 70trim... it was well out of it's efficiency range though. I run a 76GTS now.

I was looking at the PS/GZ kit which comes with the t70 standard...

With H/C I am trying to get 600 out of the stock bottom, but I want room to grow to 700-800rw with a future forged low-comp 4XXci setup...

At 600+ that you dyno'd... was that sustained or a boost spike? Would I be better off going with the 76 up front? What are the differences in spool time?

Thanks alot.
