wastegate hook up
wastegate hook up Okay i have a 40mm wastegate a single turbo setup on my ls1. My question is i have two holes in my wastegate one on top and one on the side what do i run them to? Thanks for any help
The bottom port goes to the pressure port on the front cover of the turbo.
The top port you leave vented unless using a boost controler.
If using a boost controler you hook the top port up to a tee off the line from the bottom port and regulate the pressure to the top.

If i have to have a boost controller So i would take the top hole run it to a tee then run a line from the side port to the same tee and from the same tee go to the outlet of the turbo for boost? thanks kenny
What kind of gate is it?
don't just tee the pressure feed to the side port and feed it to the top of the gate. You won't regulate anything then, and end up buying pistons
You feed the boost controller with the same pressure source at you fed to the side port on the gate. Then the output of the controller goes to the top of the gate, assuming the controller is setup to run a dual port external gate.

why bother with the top port at all? I didnt before on my turbotech kit and just put the manual boost controller inline of the bottom port hose. Is there something to gain by using the top port?
