Question opportunity to get a procharger

I have the opportunity to get a procharger kit for $2800. It's a used kit that's a year old with around 1000 miles.

It's a P1SC kit with all the hardware. He claims it is an 8lb setup but i thought you had to buy the 8lb setup separate (he said he didnt buy it extra). And it comes with 42lb injectors (not sure which brand).

1)How could i check to make sure it is an 8lb setup and not 5 or 7 like i thought the kits usually came with?
2)From reading some posts on here it seems like the 16" fan with the kits cause the car to run a little hot. How common is this and what is a good upgrade?
3)How difficult is it to tune with HP Tuners without a/f wideband?
4)I currently have an ASP pulley. How much is a stock replacement?

As for psi it is hard to say. All engines will not end up with the same psi. You have to take all the mods in to consideration, IE headers, cams exhaust ect. Each will have a effect on the psi. Might find out what size pulley he was using and his mods. You will also need to know what size and type of crank pulley as well. Getting your required pressuer is not a big deal just a matter of a pulley change.

I would find out weather it is a 6 or 8 rib drive system, if a 6 plan on a upgrade to the 8 rib. Either way you will not be able to use your ASP pulley. Will have to go back to the stock for the 6 rib. Or go with the ATI superdampner and the 8 rib upgrade.

42# injectors should do you just fine. Will need to go with a larger fuel pump if have not done so already.

For the fan should not be a problem.

As for tuning your set with HP tuners, any dyno you go to should have a wide band for your tune. I would invest in a good wideband though, well worth the money and it gives you added security to keep an eye on things after your all dialed in. Would plan on adding a vac/boost and fuel prs gage as well.

if its local i would take a trip and see what it is ur buying, as was said earlier the psi can vary with the pulley size, and or belt slippage, and if you need a stock pulley i got one laying around if ya need it u can have it just to get it out of my way,

good luck with the build

The ATI ProCharger 6 rib to 8 rib upgrade is $350.00 for all the parts. The harmonic balancer that is required is from ATI Performance Products, which is a totally different company. The balancer goes for $475.00.

We have installed many ATI ProCharger 6 rib kits at the 7 to 8 psi range, without belt slippage problems. You may want to try it first without going to the 8 rib upgrade. Bob
