Can someone explain the difference to me between the FAST intake and this one?

Fast looks similar to your stock one.
It uses either a 78mm or a 90mm throttle body.
It is designed specifically for air only, not gas.
The runners inside the intake are longer, giving better low end torque.
Typically does not flow enough air for big cubic inch motors and high reving 346+ ci (over 7,000rpm)
Fits under stock hood/cowl area.

Above intake,
Uses a 4050 style Carborator flange.
Carborated design for air/fuel (presmog swaps)
Short runners (lower midrange torque)
Flows more air, good for Big cube, High reving 346+ ci and heavy boost applications.

I'm waiting for mine to show up so I can hand sand it smooth before I put it on.

Do you have any idea which carb spacer will fit on this? I'm going to use it to fab up and aluminum elbow for my fast tb.

do the stock or aftermarket (ls1 style) fit it or is it at a different angle.

red90cobra, a 4050 flange spacer should fit it.

it's actually 4150

if it's anything like the GM/Wenger one, anything standard 4150 bolt pattern will fit

gaskets, spacers, elbows, throttles, etc. carb studs too

FWIW, my GM is still as cast. Works pretty good as is

so it's 4150 bolt pattern and I'll just leave it as is as far as cast what is the difference between 4050 and 4150?

Yup its a 4150 flanged. The Precision or wilson elbows bolt right up to it. The only real issue I see on mine is that the mounting points for the fuel rail stands are actually milled at an angle. So, any fuel rails made for a stock intake wont actually mount up (atleast without a wedge spacer or milling the bottom of the mounts. Looks like the Edelbrock fuel rails will mount up, but they are made so that the mount clamps the fuel rail on both sides (instead of through bolting) and the whole thing can be angled back to fit the mount / injector angle.

It looks like you could mill the flange deck about .500" w/o any issues to gain a little more clearance. You'd certainly have to make a very low profile elbow as well.

so runin a 1000hp motor would it be better using the fast intake or the one pictures here is better? That artical they was using 150lb injectors. i was shocked about that and the compressoin was like 10 to 1. they say make as much hp as you can with out the turbo system the it will double with the turbo. how tru is that i dont know.

THe hole is tapped (5/8" if I remember right) for a fitting to go to your brake booster.

the big tapped hole is for a brake booster fitting, the smaller 3/8 one on the inlet of the intake is for a MAP sensor from what i understand. i just got mine in from UPS today!!!
