Default o2 sensor and A/F guage question

since there is no electric form here and this is supercharger related, here goes:
i have a full throttle a/f guage installed and i used a rear o2 sensor for the guage. my problem is that i use simulators for the rear o2's and the sensor i use is not connected to the pcm. i'm not getting a signal from this sensor to the guage , even though i connected the wires for the sensor heater just to make sure it gets warm enough.
could the location of the sensor be too far far for the guage to get an accurate reading??
should i connect both the low and high signal wires to the guage ( i just have the high wire connected )?
sorry for making this post long , but i'm running out of ideas...

I thought our O2 sensors didn't not have enough resolution to provide useable data to a device in the manner you describe... or is that normal procedure to install an A/F meter?

Save up for a wideband, reason I say this because turbo and supercharger cars need to run a little rich probably around 12-12.5 afr at WOT you stock sensor is probably on accurate down to 13 afr if your lucky. So its readings will be inaccurate at best.

Just ordered a fjo data with data logging. With a computer or palm it will log rpm, afr, and additional 0-5 v signal. Not to bad on price at $800. If you want a gauge then its like $100 to 250 more depending on options. Site is www.fjoinc.com. I will let you guys now how well it works when I get it and actualy get my car put back together.
