Question about boost pistons and boost??
How long will boost pistons + say like 9 pounds of boost last in a motor??? Say mainly street driven with maybe a couple of track visits a month possibly less?? Just curious??

Re: Question about boost pistons and boost??
Given proper tuning and maintenance, it should last just as long as any other motor. 9lbs isn't really much for a good set of forged pistons. Jus make shure you keep the detenation away, and you should be alright for 100,000+ miles. Look at how man GN motors are running over 100,000 with proper care. I see you live in Richmond, you ought to come up here if you get the chance for one of our cruise nights. <img src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" border="0">

where are your cuise nights?
the effective compression ratio (regular ratio with boost amount calculated in) along with timing, air temperature, fuel ratio, and octane will determint the life of the motor/pistons.. much more so than the type of piston.
if you run it without damaging conditions, then it will last as long as the owner wishes to keep them.
