ati #5 kit putting out #3 ok on FMU 4 bigger pulley?

I have the ati base kit #5, due to my free flowing exhaust (I know a good thing and more HP) I am getting #3 boost.
My question is. If the fmu can support #5 boost then can't I get a slightly different pulley to go up to #4-5 safely on the fmu??

thanks!!

you need to know how much hp your making now and have a good idea of how much you will be making once you pulley up. you will then have to calculate whether or not your fuel system can meet the demands. with that said you can probably get away with it by cranking up the fmu. while this solution technically works it's is far from highly recommended. the superior solution is to have enough pump and injector along with the proper programming to handle the cars fuel requirments.

hope that helps.

Yep, exactly what Blackbird said. If your planning on pullying up I would definately go the injector/programming/pump route.

I don't think the FMU was made to handle much more than the 5# kit. Even though your only seeing around 3# your making more power and that is what will dictate your fuel requirements, not boost numbers.
