Default supercharger or turbo

i have been looking at a procharger but have heard a good amount of bad stuff from others who owned one, so i was wondering if they are worth buying or what other s/c to go with or if any body knows of a good turbo kit other than the sts i would like to have around 425-450 rwhp with this mod any suggestions?

Turbos make for a much more elegant power adder.

I think you can get to 450RWHP with any form of forced induction. Is this just going to be drag racing/steet car?

If 425 RWHP is what you're looking for, you might just want to go head/cam....would probably save you money, if that's an issue.

Damn get a big cam, such as a Trex or a G5X3, then a set of AFR 205 heads, a90/90 lsx/nw tb, then finally a 12 bolt and a dyno tune. That should use your 7 grand and would make for one hella fast car!

True, but with the turbo there is more room for growth down the road. However, for the turbo purchase AND the the 12-bolt which is an excellent idea, 7000 is NOT enough after accounting for all the odds and ends.

7grand just gets you started in hte FI world.... i have figured this out my self

if all your wanting is 500rwhp then there is no need to go FI unless you just have to...

if that is all you want and want no more then just slap some heads on there a 224 to a 232 duration cam with a 150 shot and youll be there no problem...

if you want FI for 7000 go with a D-1sc ATI procharger on your stock block.

Exactly, I wanted to go FI for a long time, but then realized that i rarely take my car to the track since I travel for work all the time, and honestly how much power would I need on the street to tangle with about 99% of the cars out there? Thats why im going to be getting a FM13 with a set of afr 205's either this fall or next spring, and then when my 10 bolt craps out on me im gonna get a 12-bolt and eventually a 90/90 combo. As im sure all of you FI guys have found out through experience, I thought i would be able to get away with an FI system cheap, but even if I could get a procharger or sts kit put of fairly inexpensively, theres still tranny, rear end, fuel system, and engine life (not having a forged bottom end) to worry about. All in all if your not going for HUGE HP numbers id stay heads/cam/12-bolt. If your really wanting more power than just spray a 100 shot on top. Thats what ive picked up in the 1.5 years ive been searching for the best street/rare visit to the strip combo.

7000 grand ?? well im up to 15000 so its true fi is costly if you dont do it right try speed inc for a turbo kit also sts is not bad i made good power and the clearance issues are small my car is lowerd sportline kit never rub anything turbo lag from a 40 mph at 3,000 rpm let me put it like this i ran from a kb cobra befor he even got in his powerband he is my boy from GA he pulled 620 on the dyno at 6,800 my power peak at 5,800 i made 520 we race all the way up to 170+ i ran out of gear at 178 pulling about 6,600 she ran alittle warm also but do it right and you will love it do it wrong and you will spend more money
