Default can i move my MAF to after the blower?

i am thinking about trying to set up an intercooler, if i do then it would be a good time to move my MAF to after the blower and after the intercooler, then i would have acurate IAT and i could use that to reduce my timing when the IAT gets too high.

can it take boost? can it take heat? in ls1edit the chart only goes up to 90deg c, about 195deg f. will my IAT be over that most of the time so it wont help? i have no idea what my actual IAT are under boost, it would be nice to know. is there a sensor that i could just tie into the intake after the blower and leave the MAF right where it is at? what are the 4 wires going to the MAF? 2 for MA? 2 for IAT? wouldn't that be nice

Yes, it'll take boost

Yes, it'll take heat

Non-intercooled you will peg the IAT, w/ a cooler you should never really see more than 150°F. That is if you have a decently sized cooler and you not over working the whipple

I run mine after the Intercooler. I also placed my IAT sensor in a bung on the Intercooler. Allows me to see intercooler temps when I log with Autotap.

where is the IAT sensor? i thought it was part of the MAF, if i can get a sensor that i can plumb in anywhere then i wont worry about moving my mass air, just the sensor.

One of my TurboBuick buddies has setup his GN as a blowthru MAF setup, using an LS1 based MAF with Translator. Works great, better spool up, and he claims his drivability has improved even.

In theory, the airflow should be a lot less turbulent, and straighter if setup correctly.

Just thought I'd throw that experience out there.

parish8:
Intake air temp. sensors are part of the MAF on trucks. On LS1s they are seperate.
