Well,
I broke down and called Turbo Connections and ordered the (made in Italy) scavenge pump that is supposed to last.
I think that my Tilton pump is still ok, but I am going to err on the side of safety and get the one that solves the problems once and for all.
I didn't ask the price (because at this point I don't really care). They said that they are looking for a new local supplier and it will ship when they find one.
