Default ATI Supercharger Install Questions?

Iam on the final steps of my ATI install on my 98 vette. We are currently doing all the plumbing work now and I was wondering if you guys relocate the temperature sensor b4 or after the intercooler.

I was thinking that it would be best to mount it half way between the MAFS & the Throttle body. Here it can take the most accurate readings.

But I have also herd just to mount outside in front of the radiator?

Any sugestions.

My second question has to do with the fuel pressure regulator... should I connect the vacume line to the manifold pressure or just leave it unconnected to outside air pressure?

You'll hear many reasons why NOT to do it this way, but it works for me.

I don't understand your question about the FPR. Sorry.

The fuel pressure regulator has a vacume line connection that Iam guessing slightly adjusts fuel pressure when their is a vacum.

This is how I believe it works (contradict me if Iam wrong)when the engine is naturally aspirated and you floor it a vacum is creatid in the manifold because air is being sucked into the motor. The vacum line attached from the manifold to the FPR will sence this vacum and slightly increase fuel pressure.

But under boosted application when you floor it you will have pressure in the manifold not a vacum. What Iam thinking is if the FPR sences a pressure the FPR will cut back on fuel because it will think the car is deacelerating instead of accelerating.

I have a Hobbs switch that senses boost and activates a relay that energizes my second pump.

As far as I know, it must be on a vacuum line to sense boost.

I belive, don't quote me on this, that the regulator you have on the vette is rising rate, if it isn't I know for sure there are companies that make them for the vette.

This is what you want. You need FP to increase 1 psi with every psi of boost so your effective FP remains constant. Remember if you see 60psi on the guage and your making lets say 6psi. Your effective FP is 54.

So you can see you can either try and tune for a car who's FP raises and lowers constantly or tune for a car who FP remains static.

You can guess which is easier <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
