Just finished the C5 Ati 7 psi installation.
It takes nearly 2 days to me and my friend to install his new kit on his 97 C5 .We took our time
I have to say :The kit is very coplete even the smallest bolts and clamps..nothing is missed on the kit.You guys know more than me about the Ati blowers and the quality.Actually other than the blower the kit looks like a very good example of a 'backyard engineering'unit. But it works. The car allready haves headers,Corsa exhaust and all the other bolt ons + LS6 intake.
(Yank trany/convertor,Slp 3.42 rear end)
The thinks that i dont like :
1-Blower filter is so low..even a car wash is dangerous..you know what i mean.....
2-To much piping.
3-Need to trim nearly every hose on the intercoolers to make a correct fit
4-Blower to intercoolers there is a y style pipe that hangs so low...and of course the pipes of the intercoolers are hanging low ...i tryed to grind the sharp area of the blower air filter housing (lower right corner of the filter housing)and grind the single fans lower mounting place and its now sitting a inch higher than the Ati s original set up but it sits so lowwww...
I think i ll built some s.stell pipes for a lot efficent and simple piping/routing and they ll sit a lot better than the Ati kit
-A good blower air filter that performs .(That area is very tight)
-Bigger air inlets for intercoolers
-A second fan on the place of the oem Ati blower filter
-A Bov
-A better radiator for engine cooling(Allready ordered a Becool radiator)
I ll find a place on the intercoolers to place a small 25-30 hp of dry shot. This will chill out the intercoolers
- 500 miles later(About the time to first Ati blower oil change)i ll install the BBK Tb back to see whats going on.
-I re check everythink and we ll put a good egine oil cooler.(We tested the car on the bahn today for more than 30-40 seconds of 120+mph... engine oil and water temp is easily exceed the 220F range so i slowed... )
About the Superchips micro tuner:It only gives me that'180 f Thermostat' parameter..other than that it uploads everythink automatickly.
First we download the Hypertech tuning and return to stock tuning then it takes only a few minutes to upload the S.Chips tuning very easy and fast...
Overall:Its a big improvement! i love the throttle response..the car went nuts on the wot runs.Feels much more stronger than a 100 wet TNT shot that we used on that car before.Kit is complete down to the bolts..but it needs a little trimming....its easy...yes its expencive and i expect a lot better piping/routing.With 95 octane unleaded there was no signs of detonation on the first 40-50 mile test drives.(Checked with Atap)
Anybody haves a good picture of a GWP Camaro and Corvette kits?under the car....?I would like to see that kits.Beacuse if i ll buy a blower kit for my Camaro it ll be a better quality kit or i ll buy a D1 unit and started to build my own

How are the instructions? Is it easy enough to follow for a novice?
Its easy but %90 coplete...as i said you have to modify and slightly trim some pieces but a buddys is recommended!
I am not a expert at all just a handyman who knows a little about and loves the cars
You ll need a lot of tools.
