Default raising timing with lower boost?

is it safe to add timing to a boosted engine with lower compression ?? by adding i mean increasing the timing from a what a stock compression boosted motor sees.

whats a good timing # for a 9.4 cr motor??

With only a 9.4 CR, i doubt it.
I realy dont think you could raise it muc or any if your forcing air into it, but thats just my uneducated opinion.

There's no real universal answer. My Talon took a lot of timing at 22 PSI on the pump. Some take less. I was told, and did accordingly, to add timing 2* at a time until KR started to pull, then back it off 2-4*, depending on the realiability of the gas quality in your area. Third gear runs are the most reliable for timing pulls. Third gear on boost gives the turbo the most load and allows the most combustion heat to build, so it's most likely to show retard from KR. Additionally, it gives enough time to watch the meters, laptop, etc.

Much of the ET, and quicker spool-up, comes from adding timing in the low and mid-range RPMs. The more timing in the lower RPMs, the quicker the spool-up.

Hope that helps.
