Nitrous junkies think they have an addiction
N2O is like one shot of morphine, boost is like a morphine drip and you have control of the dosage (until you turn it up so much you kill yourself).

Im understanding the compressor side now.
A questions about adiabatic effiency formula to find actual temperature rise
formula is Ideal outlet temp rise / Adiabatic effciency = Actual temp rise. Now it states that most turbos range from 65-75 % effencicy. how can I nawwor this down. Would I use the compressor map for the area. Bc a general temp rise would be 70% @ 5psi would be around 146.6 total at 80 degrees outside non intercooled.

Say I was using a TS04 turbo which seems to fit with what Im wanting to do.
Anyways at 3000rpm at 7 psi I would consume about 22 lbs/min and that would put me at about 75% effeciency there. So at 3000 rpm and 7spi I would come up with a temp rise of about 82 degrees in stead of 88 with 70 percent.
The reason why I ask if bc you need to know your Ideal actual temp before calculating you density ratio would would give you you pounds per minute

the best way is to count on other people experience. there is enough of it out there to tell you what you need to know. i can understand how you want to figure all of that stuff out before hand but it is dificuilt and often there is more to it than the numbers.

you will get lots of advice if you were to post up a hp goal or ET goal along with a budget and stuff like street/track or track only.

Parish hit it the nail on the head. Post up all your goals, then we can better tailor it for your needs.

I want a "starter kit" haha.
2000 z/28 down to the filter with 75xxx miles a4
I want something that will make about 450-500 hp reliable and stock like ccharacters with the stock cam and such. Still wanna run pump gas, will run meth kit or toulene. The car will be lowered and run on 18x11 and 17x9 wheels. This isnt a drag car but an all purpose car but still want to clock at least a 12.9. The car is going to germany so its will need to be able to take long runs at 120-140mph.
Just want something small I dont care if at 500 hp the turbo is maxed out at 5-8 psi. Thats fine I have a tenedency to push the envolope but I dont want to chance it with my DD. Just something to learn with, and learn how to tune with.
So what do I need???

Thanks for the help

a t67 would work fine for your applications, not sure on a/r or compressor wheel information.

if you wanted you could runa t70 and have a little room to grow.

with 500 rwhp you better be ETing better then 12.9, lol.

OK, here's a data point for ya'. STS T60 rear mount @ 5 psi on a stock LS1 346 equals about 400-420 whp and can go to 8 psi or something like 450-470 whp. Above the 5-6 psi you need meth or IC IMHO and need to start thinking about fuel system upgrades. Their upgrade turbo is a T67 and can go to something like 550 and up depending on boost level. HTH.
