cheapest forced induction kit?
Powerdyne is cheapest.
You get what you pay for.
IMHO, if you can't afford a rebuild, don't play with FI. And don't do an FI kit to 'just get your feet wet'. That's saying you don't want to spend the money to do it right. I still haven't decided if I want to go FI or not, but if I do, I'll probably rebuild the bottom end of the motor first (stock crank, forged pistons & nice rods, Katech main caps, head studs, and nice bolts throughout).
You can pick up a used Powerdyne system for $2000 or so, with probably another $1000 in expenses and you'll be running OK. But the performance isn't on par with the better FI kits, tho.
Remember, just my $.02. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Prepare you motor, drivetrain and rearend for it. Then get a nice setup, like an ATI blower for something. If you're not ready to jump all the way in, then don't even try, but I think it's safe to say the powerdyne would be the best way to go if you just want a small amount of performance on something that's safer then a turbo.
