Vaccum Pumps

Vaccum Pumps Little bit of back ground. Its a 383 with a D1SC with low tension rings in it and 9:1 compression
Well I starting dyno tuning the car this week and kinda noticed she is blowing a little smoke on the dyno. Now I do have low tension rings in the motor and it was brought to my attention that I should use a evac. or pump on the car to help ring sealing.
What are you guys using? Did you notice a difference?
I'm debating on a electric or belt driven one. I do have a spot where the A/C is suppose to go but I didn't know what you guys were doing on your cars.

Re: Vaccum Pumps So are you pulling off of the intake or the valve cover? Mine's going to be a little different since its a LT1 but I see what your saying. Looks like a good idea. How much vaccum did you pick up with it? Did you notice any other benefits other than it using less oil?
Re: Vaccum Pumps the one that comes in our cars works great too <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> and it comes free with ever ls1.
you have to pull off of the valvecover because thats where the crankcase is, not in the intake, oil in the intake is what you want to avoid.. this keeps oil completely out of the intake because their paths never cross.
