Default Getting closer - new times

For those that do not know, the car is a 2000 formula 6 speed. Stock motor with springs, retainers, pushrods, and injectors 42#. Incon TT kit at 8 psi, no cats and a loudmouth exhaust.

Suspention consists of QA1 shocks F+R with the frt drag springs, SLP ph bar and Metco LCA's w. relocation brackets. Rear is a DTS 12 bolt with 3.73's.

Thanks Harlan for the valve and the AWESOME 2 step. Car would not be able to launch the way it does without it.

Got the 2 step working. New DS in, and turned it up to 8psi.

Made a couple of 1/8th passes to make sure it would run good. so I didn't get booted for an 11.9 lol.

drop the tire pressure to only 18 psi, set 2 step to 5500 and get ready. Car STILL has stock torque arm, sway bar hooked up, and weighs 3850 with driver.

Do a decent burnout in the box, and pull up to the line. Set the 2 step, and rev it up. lights come down, and come off the clutch. Felt like getting asspacked by a freight train.

RT 6.10
60' 1.537 !!!!!!!
330 4.644
1/8 7.190
mph 97.82
1000 9.389
1/4 11.218
mph 123.77

Weather was even crappy, 70 degrees at 9pm at night with almost 100% humidity. wait for 45-55 degree weather.

Now I need to bleed the clutch good. Sometimes pedal doesn't return due to cooked fluid. Get a 01+ intake, timing fixed (still not done), and lean it out some. Remove swaybar, backseat, and run 10 psi.

10.8x here I come.

BTW, if you're wondering about the new title; I was hoping to at least get a few responses . lol

Hell yeah!!! Already faster than my best times. I bet the 1.5 60' was a blast!! What kinda boost are you building on the 2 step? Have you dynod? 3860 is pretty heavy....must be making great power to run that. If I don't work this weekend, i want to try and better my 11.27......on the stock rear

All on a stock motor! How long have you been running this setup? I am very curious on how strong these motors are.

Ahh, finally some comments.

Cable, I have only played with the 2 step a few times. with a 1.5 60' snapping my head back; I really didn't get to see what the boost was at or what it came up to. Harlan wanted to know the exact same thing.

Yeah, 3850 IS heavy.

with 6 psi, it made ~430rwhp /445rwtq at 11:1 a/f (stock timing) on a mustang dyno. SAME setup made 477/490 on a dynojet. Previus best was 11.43 at 121.15 on a 1.67 60'. NO 2 step on the launch.

At 8psi and being slightly leaner, since I am running the same fuel map since 6 psi; I bet it makes ~480/500. I should find out in a few weeks.

I had the turbo kit installed at Agostino Racing at about 7000 miles. Car currently has about 27500. So call it 20K on the turbo kit. With a trip to Texas (from Michigan) in there. 1200 each way.

Good run. I love that 60' my previous best was a 1.70 dumping the clutch at 5500...we'll see how the 2 step does. I WAS making 5 psi at 4000 on the 2 step but now i have a leak...think i cracked the manifold Gonna run it anyway. Tho the crack has made a cool backfire at night where i actually saw the light from the flame out the back. What kind of timing are you running?

I'm glad to hear you got it mostly sorted out.

Are you using a grainger valve to get to 8 psi?

I've moved to Ohio, still sorting out an electical gremlin, looks like it may be the alternator causing the battery to rapidly discharge.

I've got all the parts now, including a on-board wide-band, all I need is time...
