Default This Things Pissin Me Off!!!!

ya like the subject says... ive been fighting this damn thing for the last 3 weeks!!!

Start it when the motor is cold and it feels as if it has a totally dead cylinder. drive it and it feels the same way. As the engine warms up you can put it under a load/bring it into boost and the miss will either do 1 of 2 things...

1. clear up and run perfect until there is no load then go back to missing
2. pop through the exhaust as if the spark is being blown out

i have changed the plugs twice and none show any signs of abnormal burn. When the motr pick up that cylinder its plain as day... its like someone just turned it on. I am dumbfounded on this PLEASE HELP!!!

Did you check the plug wires?

Put a timing light on your plug wires next to the coil. You can see if one of the coils is missing.

You can also put a Tech II on the car and drive it around and see what bank is misfiring. This will help you isolate where the problem is occurrying at.

List all your mods, dyno numbers, and track performance first... then we can react.

leaded race fuel = bad O2's, replace them along with your spark plugs, possibly fuel filter.

Our problems sound similar . . . mine came out of nowhere, I didn't even put race gas in. I have checked/changed my plugs, have not checked the coils or wires yet. Mine stumbles all the time when under 1800rpm, goes away under normal driving but shows up again when laying into it. Like it's missing. Stumbles real bad if I drive slow down the street in 3rd gear around 1200rpm and brake on it, it's bucking like a horse.

I would say Oxygen Sensors as well. Do you have some type of tuning interface where you can give some readings? Normally with Race gas, I recommend Denso O2's.

Also, check the simple stuff first - fuel pressure, fuel filter, etc.

Not necessarily, it could be a burnt wire that is just shorting or sparking on a piece of metal near it.

yeah, when you put a load, you put more juice also, so it might be skipping past the bad part of the wire... also I had something similar happen on another vehicle and it ended up being a broken plug but didnt notice till 3 times pulling off the plug wires, so check those too..

Check the wires with an Ohm meter, don't just inspect them with your eyes...

sounds like plugs or wires. I've chase this same demon myself. turned out to be a cracked plug.

If you want to run leaded gas replace your o2's with denso's. I run lots of leaded and they lasted me 8 months before getting a little sluggish.

If your o2's were shot would that show up on the computer as a code, or fueling would be drastically off??

So do you show misfires on all cylinders or just one at idle?

My checklist would be:

-plugs (easy)
-install TR6 @ .030
-wires (easy, put stock on to check)
-check base and wot fuel pressure (57 base, more than a 10psi drop at wot is bad)
-a/f tune? lean at idle, and stock thru part cruise, and then wot should be like 12:1 or fatter

I'm thinking you are rich down low, and the spark plugs are loading up.

wide band is on it, down low is 14s so is cruising and part throttle and WOT is high10s

plugs have been changes 2 times now with no effect...

i am NOT throwing any missfire codes anytime.... and it seems as if after i rip it a few times back to back it clears up and runs fine! liek if say the egts get over 1000'F (probes in DP)
