Default ATI procharger

looking to add one to my SS.How hard is that on an engine?Is this a good choice?I dont want to mess up my hood and heard this is the way to go.Will the kit have everything I need or do I need other stuff with it?Any input would be great!!Thanks

If you're going with the P1SC kit, you should be fine. There can sometimes be a small amount of fabication necessary, but it is usually minimal. The kit comes with everything you need including a FMU to handle the extra fuel requirements. You should put down around 400rwhp, possibly a little more. Expect to be buying a decent clutch in the near future. Your stock clutch will probably last for a little while if you're not too hard on it.

Actually the FMU is available as an option. ATI currently isn't providing programming with the LS1 kits so we have a few options available -

1 - ship system without the MicroTuner with a $300. discount

2 - Ship system with FMU, fuel pump and lines. This is the same configuration that was offered in the past. A $150. discount will also be given.

3 - Wait for MicroTuner development to be finalized. No firm date has been set at this time.

4 - We are now offering custom programming for the ATI superchargers. The program will be set up for the supercharger and any other modifications that you have on the vehicle. The cost for this will be $450. ($150. more that the price of the kit with the Microtuner). You will just need to send your PCM in for programming when you start your install.

The 5# version will show about a 100hp increase which will be a very noticeable difference in performance but it won't be to hard on the motor.

I've got the ATI kit on my 98 z28, and i love it, i bought one of the original kits when released, back then they didn't even offer the microtuner, just an FMU, which we didn't even use, but we did ask to upgrade too a D1-SC, which I love, 9 lbs. is crazy, when we finish my good motor we're swapping it in, and putting on the 19lb. pulley...hehe.We did 36# injectors, and a custom calibration, and have no fuel problems, we are actually running too rich, and are tweaking the cal to get it perfect, so i would actually skip the microtuner, and FMU options, and get injectors, and a good cal, I've been told by sources in ATI, that the FMU actually isn't even all that great, and i have driven another car with the FMU and agree, i like mine better. But definetely get the kit. Any ?'s just drop me a line, and i can give ya my thoughts further.
