Garrett turbos for the LS1....
The Stryker Viper uses them, Hennessey uses them and I think LPE has used them.
Isn't the hard part about using a turbo the fabrication of the metal tubing which carries the air to the intake and the exhaust to the turbo and out?
Haven't you noticed how little room there is under an F-Body hood?
It looks like somebody upended a wheelbarrow full of hoses and tubes into the engine bay and then jumped up and down on them enough to get the hood closed (only just barely)
there's definitely something to be said for the older cars where there was enough room to get at everything...
They work quite well, but we all know the story with Incon at this point
Is there a maximum length the turbo can be away from the intake? I mean the piping for the clean compressed air. Or is the problem that the turbo must be close to the engine because of the exhaust gas having to go through it?
Where do the turbos go with the Incon kit?
Do you know what model the Stryker Viper uses?

Not sure what your getting at here.

Garrett is not. Incon used Garrett turbos. So, Incon really isn't out of business. Why aren't people just calling Garrett for there turbo's?
Is it all of the other parts that are needed that Garrett doesn't make?
Garrett is the worlds largest supplier of aircraft, industrial, and automotive turbochargers.
Incon, just like 95% of all other automotive companies that make turbo systems, purchased these Garrett turbos either directly from Garrett or any of the major aftermarket turbocharger suppliers such as Turbonetics, Precision Turbo & Engine, etc.
Incon is out of business, thats a fact, but, Garrett has [NO] affiliation with Incon.
If you want to purchase a turbocharger, I would contact Precision Turbo & Engine (PTE). They can supply any Garrett turbo you need, and modify any of these turbos for any application, race or otherwise. BTW, PTE has been in the Turbo Buick race business for many years.

If you're an awesome fabricator and can weld stainless and aluminum. You should be able to build your own. Turbo placement, wastegate placement and intercooler placement are critical.
But if you have the skills it's not that hard.

CHRA's can be a little hard to get but not impossible. Most companies are charging about 3 times markup for them. The gt2535 CHRAs cost about $400 each at cost, but I have seem them selling for $1200 each. I purchased a set back in January for ~$600 each.
