I'm contmeplating switching over from an ATI D-1 to the Cerra Racing kit w/ larger turbo.
I'm running the Agostino Racing 6.0L truck heads(ported) w/ their blower cam(218,224 sep116).
I realize that the t-62-1 is probably not the best choice but am not familiar w/ the other models to choose an alternate. One rec. was going to a t-72 but I'm concerned about lag, bottom end torque and what the potential HP is at 6K.
I'm currently running 10lbs. w/ the ATI, bottom end is stock so would be the limit.
Thanks!
John

Why you dumping the ATI? What aren't you happy with? What are the goals for the turbo?
T66 or T72 should be good. Most people here will go for the larger turbos. I think the T66 had better efficiency levels at lower LS1 boost like 8-10psi.

Mello---
Gordy indicated the t-66 would be a poor choice.
As to why the switch, I feel the torque characteristics and boost onset are useful for a street driven car w/ very little track time.

I disagree, especially compared to a 62-1! Most here will say T72 or T76, but I'm not interested in hacking up my hood.
T66 vs. 62-1 is a no brainer.

With your motor you shouldnt see much lag at all. With the cubic inches of the ls1 you always have tons of exhaust flow through the turbo so spool isnt that far off. I would look at a t-72 That is what i used to run and i really like that size. I now run twins but that is a diff story <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
