I was doing some checking on this and I found two good posts about this I'll list them here

http://www.ls1.com/forums/showthread...eferrerid=9599

the second is the actual thread where I got the first link from

https://ls1tech.com/ubb/cgi-bin/ulti...;f=20;t=000749

It seems as some people have been doing away with the bypass valves and going to a BOV and it is doing away with the oil in the intake also. I hope this provides some more insight too. I am going to try this BOV and see if it helps.

I was having the same problem. It got way worse after installing the smaller pulley. I even tried disconnecting the pcv inlet hose from the s/c and putting a filter on it. THat didn't help. I could wipe the oil out and go drive it one quick run and the oil would be back. I installed a bov and have not had any more oil in the tubes.
What is happening:
after running it hard, boost is building heavily in s/c tubes. THen you let off the throttle. the Throttle is closed so the pressure has no were to go.Plus the s/c is still spinning fast and building more boost. I bet the boost reaches 20PSI between the S/c and the throttle blade when you close the throttle. That pressure is pushing agianst the seals in the S/C, allowing oil to blow in the tubes. That is why you find it in front of the S/c by the Maf(on Vortechs). I have been running the BOV for about 5 months now. I have never had oil in the tubes since.
Some people argued that you couldn't use the Bov because it would be after the maf and you would be venting metered air. Which is true, you are venting metered air, but THat will just cause it to run real rich why it is blowing off. That is better than lean. Running to rich will not hurt your engine. This will also save your engine if you hit the rev limiter. When you hit the rev limiter the pcm shuts off the fuel. Which is very bad under boost. The Bov will blow off when you hit the rev limiter. this will keep you from posibly detonating when you hit the rev limiter.
I highly recommend getting one. The sound is awsome also.
Their is a few small draw backs. It may blow off earlier than you want when accelarating at about half throttle. But the bovs are adjustable.

dayummm.. No kidding. On a side note, I was having this problem. I just (against what I was told) unhooked all the pcv hoses and let the valve covers vent to under hood. Its been like this for 10k miles and no more oil around the maf and no other problems... Take it for what its worth...
