Default Tapping into the oil line for a vortech

My friend with a vortech blown 99' GT, said vortechs are better then ati's as a result of tapping into the oil. He claimed this keeps the supercharger lubed, thus leading to longer life. Is this true? Have the vortechs shown longer life as a result of tapping into the oil?

The ATI has its own contained oiling in the blower. You have to change the oil in the blower seperate from the engine oil. But I would think this would be better for the blower to keep it's oil seperate, to keep the particulates and metal from engien wear to getting in to the s/c. Plus engine oil gets hot.

No this is not a better way...I am in fact a mustang guy myself, but love the LS1's. Tapping into the oil can lead to a lot of problems, such as what happens if the engine blows up, and you lose all your oil? Or if a gasket breaks and u lose all your oil. Both ways your engine is gone. If a vortec is there, it is gone also becuase the cars oil is the same as the superchargers oil. Where as a procharger the oil from that car that is lost, and thus damaging the engine will not hurt the blower. Becuase it has its own oil, and so u will not lose the ATI Procharger. But will lose the vortec. Besides...ATI Procharger is just better. All the mustang guys gets vortecs becuase, a newbie comes on, says what supercharger should i get. 2 people say vortec so he buys a vortec. Then from that moment on he tells everyone to get a vortec. So everyone now has a vortec...and telling everyone else to get a vortec. ATI makes more power. Go with ATI...and you will smoke him. You could run your ATI at proly 3 psi on ur LS1 and beat his GT.

race only and daily driven street cars are very different and need be taken into consideration. if you are building a 1/4 mile car with the goal of maxing performance go with ATI. If you are building a daily driven dependable set up with competitive performance go with Vortech. People dont just chose vortech on a hunch, they lead the industry concerning forced induction in the LT1/LS1 market. I tapped my oil pan, took about an hour and guess how many times ive thought about my supercharge oil since??? Now how often are the ATI owners worried, checking the mileage on the dash and paying someone to change the charger oil. both are nice and both have there perks.

its not always about the big horse power CLAIMS!!!
