Default Fuel Pump Idea

To help support 50lb injectors and 550-600rwhp, I think I might have to run two pumps.

I have an Walbro 340 intank and a Walbro 392 inline. Instead of putting them in serial, I was thinking about running a separate tube down the tank and run a high pressure fuel line down the stock line until the fuel rail where it Y's together with the stock line then into the fuel rail. This way if one quits for some reason, there's less chance of detonation.

I'd love to run dual in tank pumps but I don't think my 2002 setup would allow for it. Here's some pics:

The pump assembly is on springs with rubber feet at the bottom. I think this helps support the plastic tank under weight and vacuum but I'm not sure on thats the real purpose. I'd like to keep the white canister since that has to help hard cornering and take off's (keeps pump surrounded by fuel under high g-force).

I was also curious if anyone is running the Bosch 420 fuel pump (I think thats the one) and if it will fit in an 02 without many mods?

here's a simpler solution that is along the lines of your thinking:

use the 340 in the tank and the install a bulkhead at the bottom of the tank and feed it to you 392. Then y-in the 392 feed to the stock feed line that the 340 is using.

boom, twin pumps <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I would imagine so, just want to make sure. This might be a stupid question but what exactly do you mean by a bulkhead? Thanks! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

yes the stock line would be enough

a "bulkhead" is a type of fitting you use to be both inside and outside of something.

Just go look at an aeroquip/russell/earls catalog you'll see it and see how it works

i think you could probably squeeze off 600rw with the single gss340 and a voltage booster. its been done before so it should work for you... i wouldnt put a lot of money into running stock lines.
