Are Ported Heads worthwhile for Forced Induction?
Are Ported Heads worthwhile for Forced Induction? I am building a new motor (stock 346ci LS6 block, 9:1,forged rods/pistons, main/head studs)for my Turbo and was wondering if it is worthwhile to spend the $2000 to have my 6.0L heads ported and upgraded to larger valves or should I just upgrade the springs and get a good valve job?
I will be shooting for 600 rwhp
Id hate to spend $2000 if it is not going to provide any more horsepower.

Re: Are Ported Heads worthwhile for Forced Induction? I don't think the Q is if it will add power. It's more is the Power/Performance a good way to spend money? Add the Head cost + labor cost. You probably could have changed a pulley much cheaper. All depends on your goals and where your setup is at the moment and what your goals are.

Re: Are Ported Heads worthwhile for Forced Induction? yo i have ABSOLETE SPEED heads and a 216-220 114 lsa cam. i had to change the pulley to a smaller one. i just fiexed my fuel pressure isues and i should hit ther dyno and track soon. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
